Murnad Trip

Hi!
Hope you definitely get a chance to read this up but definitely a very amazing trip and looking forward to go there again as a team.
Here I go:
Initially we had planned to go to Karwar (Devbaugh Island) and as a last minute alteration (just like most of our plans) due to lack of time we decided on Madikere. After many changes in plan from Karwar to Kerala, we as a team decided on going to Madikere via Nagarahole.

We started off at 11 pm on 11th April 2008 (Rhyming Rhyming) and took a cool drive on a hired Tavera. The road from Bangalore to Mysore was good and the drive after that was bad all the way to Srimangala. We reached Nagarahole via Hunsur at around 5 pm (after a couple of breaks) on 12th April 2008 and after that our good experience started.

The fog was so thick at Nagarahole that we could not see beyond the bonnet of the Tavera and the whole team was awake with wide eyes open looking out for any elephants blocking the road. It was so chilling and exciting at the same time.

We reached the check post and after the initial checking we were allowed to go in at 6 am in the morning. We decided to check out the tamed elephants near the safari office and go an opportunity to take photos with Satisha, Krishna and Abhimanyu (names of the tamed elephants). We decided to go on a Wild life safari. Completed Safari with no good sightings except for a 400 year old tree in the forest

Started from Nagarahole at 8 am and had breakfast at Katte (not a good choice) and started towards Murnad via Virajpet. We reached around 1 pm in the noon at Holiday Homes (just 2 kms after the Cauvery Bridge at Murnad and 10 Kms before Madikere).

It was such a warm welcome by the host, Mr. and Mrs. Kashi Aiyappa and we just loved the way they jelled with us. We all managed to get one huge room for the team of six and took 30 minutes to refresh ourselves and rush down for the lunch. Lunch was served with a personal touch by the staff and I am sure we all added more kilograms to our existing obesity.

It was a good decision to stay here and no regrets about the place and the ambience. We went back to the room and took rest till about 6.30 in the evening. After that we came down and the bonfire was ready for us in the common area and we were having team building activities till about 12 in the night.

We went back to the room and continued playing cards till about 2.30 am and went to sleep after that.

We woke up again at 6.30 am on 13th April 2008 and went down to the river Cauvery for a morning swim. The water was cool and we really had fun games inside the water. We left around 9 am back to the resort and by than the team was famished. Post breakfast the team went for a trek into the estate which is about 60 acres behind the resort. And they reached back around 1.30 in the afternoon. Lunch followed after the trek and we decided to start back to Bangalore.

That was around 3 pm we left Murnad and the return journey was with a heavy heart that we could not spend more time at the resort. We reached Bangalore around 12.30 midnight on 13th April 2008 and everybody split up with a happy but heavy heart.

Itinerary:
Bangalore to Nagarahole via Hunsur
Nagarahole to Murnad via Virajpet (10 kms before Madikere)
Cross the Cauvery bridge at Murnad and 2 kms on the right side is the resort.
